Golden Gate Day Care Center is a Licensed 501c3 Organization, it was founded and opened and opened its doors in 1972 by Earl and Dr. Jean Simpson, in Chicago, Illinois (Cook County), The 9th Aldermatic Ward. Golden Gate Day Care Center has been licensed by the city of Chicago and the State of Illinois/Department of Children & Family Services since its inception. The center is accredited by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The Mission of Golden Gate Day Care Center is to provide quality child care for the residents of the Golden Gate, Pullman, Eden Green, Altgeld Gardens and, neighboring Riverdale Communities. Our center offers a comprehensive child development program. The creative curriculum is our model. The teaching initiative is grounded in rich literacy and child initiated or teacher guided child exploration hands on arts and nature projects. GGDCC provides a quality program to help children develop socially, emotionally, mentally, physically and cognitively.
The Mission of the Golden Opportunities Foundation is to provide continuing support services for middle-aged/school-aged, children who reside in the Golden Gate, Pullman, Eden Green, Altgeld Gardens and, neighboring Riverdale Communities. The Golden Opportunities Foundation is a literacy, art and cultural based program; which are centered on ‘anti-violence’ themes. Through social interaction, discussion and structure, youth receive modeling techniques in areas such as; art, nature, literacy, self expression, respecting differences, learning to understand social intervention, as a way of diffusing violence… Learning to respect 'ALL' life is truly the beginning of a Golden Opportunity..
